My Teaching Philosophy

Explore my core beliefs and values as an educator. Discover how I foster inclusive, engaging learning environments where students thrive. Language learning is social, inclusive, and built on confidence.

Equity & Inclusion

I believe all students deserve equitable access to learning. I design instruction that removes barriers, honours linguistic and cultural diversity, and creates a sense of belonging, particularly in FSL contexts where confidence and access are essential.

Authentic Communication

I value language learning that is meaningful and purposeful. By prioritizing real-world communication over isolated language drills, I help students develop functional language skills and see French as a tool for connection and expression.

Confidence & Psychological Safety

I believe students learn best when they feel safe taking risks. I intentionally create classroom environments where mistakes are normalized, effort is valued, and learners build confidence to participate, speak, and grow in French.
